While Palak Purswani did not reveal much about her past during her short stint on the reality show Bigg Boss OTT 2, the actor has since spoken candidly about how she went through a major low phase after being cheated on by ex-boyfriend Avinash Sachdev. The two came face-to-face on the show recently, and tried to keep a cordial front. During a conversation with co-contestant Jiya Shankar on the show, Avinash said that he broke up with Palak because he fell out of love. After this, Palak’s friends took to social media to call him out. Post her eviction from the show, the actor said in an interview that she had no clue about Avinash’s comments, and described how his infidelity nearly tore her family apart.
Palak shared that she confronted Avinash after she noticed him being distracted for a few days. The other woman, an actor, confessed that they’d been spending time together, but said that there were ‘no emotions involved’. “I spoke to this girl in front of his parents, and they knew everything. I parted ways with him saying that he lost something permanent over something temporary. For two months, he chased me, and I decided to give him another chance, and that was my biggest mistake,” Palak told Siddharth Kanan in an interview.
She added that their businesses were involved, and his father also treated Avinash like his own son. Months later, when she was on a trip to Goa with some girl friends, Palak got to know that Avinash had sought a few girls’ numbers at a party. When she confronted him about this, she was shocked to discover that he’d been texting two sisters at the same time. “I am so embarrassed about the kind of messages they shared. That was the last nail, and I decided I can’t be with him. And because my family loved him so dearly, especially my father, he suffered a minor attack because of the trauma,” she said.
Palak Purswani broke down as she shared that neither Avinash nor his parents reached out to her then, or even cared to apologise. She added that because of these past incidents, she has developed anxiety and trust issues that stop her from living her life freely. The actor further revealed that Jiya Shankar knew about this, and yet she stood by Avinash in Bigg Boss OTT 2, which hurt her.
The actor also opened up about Avinash’s past relationships, and confessed that she never recognised the red flags. As readers would know, Avinash Sachdev dated his Choti Bahu co-star Rubina Dilaik for four years. He then got married to Shalmalee Desai in 2015 and got divorced in two years.
“He had told me how he and Rubina were supposed to get engaged, but he broke up as she was acting abnormal and impulsive. He told me she was possessive and would call up on his set if he didn’t answer her calls. He said that he walked out of the relationship while she chased her. On the other hand, about his divorce, he mentioned how they were not on the same page and struggled together. I also got to know that she too had caught him cheating on her,” Palak said.
She added that she has noticed women who break up with Avinash go on to flourish in their lives, and also find better partners. Citing Rubina’s marriage with Abhinav Shukla and Shalmalee getting married again, Palak hoped that she, too, would find her true love soon.
