Avinash Sachdev was confident he would be one of the finalists of Bigg Boss OTT 2. Minutes before his elimination, when host Salman Khan asked who he felt would be leaving, Avinash mentioned Manisha Rani’s name. However, as per social media buzz, she received the highest votes. Post his exit from the reality show, the Choti Bahu actor shared that he has given himself closure by believing it’s all about followers and not your performance, at the end of the day.

Speaking to indianexpress.com, the actor said that he felt the show was about personality and the inputs one gives on topics and relationships. “I definitely feel I had a better chance than Manisha then. But if she’s still inside then it’s all about followers. That’s the consolation I have given to myself. I am not active on social media and have always believed those apps are for me, and not the other way round. However, if it will all come down to numbers on social media, then I have nothing else to say.”

There is a constant tug-of-war between fans of YouTubers and TV actors on social media since the season launched. Even host Salman Khan addressed the topic of ‘followers’ during the Weekend Ka Vaar, and pulled up Abhishek Malhan for being ‘arrogant’ about it. When asked about the same, Avinash said, “They call themselves a community that they have brought to Bigg Boss. It’s all about community friendship and bonding. But these guys are just a community but we are an industry. They have this kind of arrogance with this amount of fame. What would happen if they have a career like me or Pooja Bhatt? I think they need to have a larger perspective on life and success. Honestly, failure makes you see things clearly but they haven’t seen that. I don’t think there’s any person successful in life who hasn’t seen a low. But these people would not be able to handle that.”

Avinash Sachdev further opened up about how he has been going through a rough phase ‘personally, professionally, financially and mentally’. He added that Bigg Boss came at the right time in his life before he broke down completely. The actor added that the love he’s been receiving post the show holds more value to him than being in the finalist’s place.

“Bigg Boss has revived me completely from all sides. It has taken me out of that hole and given me a new standing. I am taken aback at how people are showering love on me. No one in my building ever bothered about me, and now they want pictures with me. Being in Mumbai, no one pays heed to celebs and even then they are taking time to meet me, which feels special. Also, elderly people are blessing me. That means they liked me and my game in the show. I kept my dignity inside and came across as someone communicable. They finally know who Avinash is as a person, even though I have been around for years. I think that’s my biggest achievement,” he added.

When asked what’s next for him, Avinash smiled to say, “I definitely took the plunge to change my career and see how big it can get. I am ready for everything. Let’s go for it.”
