Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Rajiv Thakur, and Archana Puran Singh will return with Season 2 of The Great Indian Kapil Show on September 21. Ahead of the premiere, the team is busy with promotions. During one such interview, Archana spoke about her iconic hearty laughter on the show and the odd requests she gets from people to laugh loudly. She also touched upon her remuneration compared to the other cast members.

In a recent interaction with Siddharth Kannan, Archana discussed her role as a permanent guest on the show. Kiku was asked if he feels bad about putting in so much effort—wearing costumes, doing elaborate makeup, preparing lines, and performing on stage—while Archana gets paid for just sitting and laughing. Archana quickly jumped in, explaining, “Paise ye log double le jate hai. Toh sahi hai na mehnat karo bhai. (These people earn double the money, so they must do the hard work). I’m getting paid to laugh, and they’re getting paid for their hard work. Some get paid for their beauty, others for their talent, but I get paid for all of that.”

Sunil Grover praised Archana, saying, “Archana ji’s personality is infectious.” On the topic of her laughter, Archana gave examples of actresses like Deepika Padukone and Kajol, explaining, “A lot of women laugh loudly. My laughter stands out because I get so many opportunities to laugh on the show.”

However, Archana revealed some awkward moments when people approach her in real life, asking her to laugh loudly. She shared, “We live normally. Matlab mein paglon ki tarah akele hasti nahi rehti (I don’t laugh alone like a mad person). Sometimes, people meet me while I’m shopping and say, ‘Aree Archana ji, aap has nahi rahi‘ (You’re not laughing, Archana ji). It’s so irritating. Some have even asked me to laugh loudly when they’re clicking a photo. I’m not a mad person, and I’ve walked away from such situations.”
