Akanksha Puri is emerging as one of the strongest contestants on Bigg Boss OTT 2. The actor is contributing with all flavours from drama and tears to even romance. Dubai-based actor Jad Hadid seemed to fall in love with her at first sight, however, she has been taking it slow. She even got friend Avinash Sachdev to ask Jad to not touch and hug her as she is not comfortable with it.
In the latest episode, Akanksha opened up to Jad about why she wants to not start a relationship on the reality show. Opening up about her past affair with Paras Chhabra, she said how he was on the same show (season 13) and fell in love with someone else (Mahira Sharma). “We never broke up. When he came to the show, he started liking someone from day one. We never had a closure but there were some things he said to demean me, and disrespect me. A lot of things he said on national television, which was really not good,” she said.
Akanksha further said that she hasn’t been in a relationship ever since as she gets scared about her love life becoming an issue on TV. As Jad tried to explain that people would judge her no matter what, she said that she understands that but it will take time for her to overcome. She also mentioned how she is ready to explore something between them outside the house but would want them to be just friends for now.
As readers may remember, Paras Chhabra fell in love with Mahira Sharma on Bigg Boss (2019), and publicly called off his relationship on the show with Akanksha Puri. The latter was left shocked and upset, and she try to put across her rage during one of the Weekend Ka Vaar. However, Paras remained unaffected and continued to date Mahira till they decided to part ways, very recently.
Post the Bigg Boss fiasco, Akanksha Puri entered Mika Vi Vohti, the singer’s swayamvar as a wild card contestant. Given the two have known each other for a long, it came as no surprise that she was announced the winner of the show. However, they both maintain they are ‘just friends’ and are not in a romantic relationship.
Talking about her relationship with Mika, the actor, before entering Bigg Boss OTT 2, told indianexpress.com, “He is my biggest supporter and Mika was so excited that I am doing Bigg Boss. He is my best friend and I look up to him for so many things. I am relieved that he is outside supporting me. People might say a lot of things about us but I do not care. For people who have watched the show, they know it was about one girl winning it. And we ended the show on a friendly note. I still believe that as a life partner, you should choose friends over anyone else. I am single and Mika is my closest friend, and he will have the same things to say.”
