Akanksha Puri, who was recently eliminated from Bigg Boss OTT, after her kiss with co-contestant Jad Hadid has said that the makers wanted the kiss to happen and that is why they did not stop the task. She also said that she fells like she was used as the makers promoted the 30-second kiss heavily.

In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Akanksha was asked about Salman Khan’s apology, that he gave on Weekend Ka Vaar after Jad and Akanksha’s kiss. She said that she “felt bad that the host had to apologise” but she felt even worse that the apology video wasn’t promoted as much as the kiss video.

“The teaser and trailer that were posted on the app. There were so many reels which were promoted so much. There were thumbnails, screenshots of me and Jad kissing. They wrote ‘Hottest Kiss Ever’ and that was the name of the episode on the app. I saw that more than the apology video,” she said.

Akanksha called out the hypocrisy of the makers and said, “On one hand, you are promoting it so much. I feel I was used somehow. You used me for it, and your host had to apologise for it so I found these things very contradictory… And if this was so wrong, they could have stopped the task.” Akanksha said that if the contestants are not wearing their mic properly or speaking in English, Bigg Boss is quick to object but during this task, no one stopped them.

“They could have said stop the task and we would have stopped it, but no one stopped it. That task took a while, it was decided, planned, we accepted it and then we did it. In all of this, they couldn’t have stopped us?” she questioned. When asked if the makers wanted that kiss to happen, she said, “Obviously, I feel that way. Makers had no issues with that kiss that is why it was telecast, that it was it was promoted, that is why it is everywhere. And I was given the blame for that and eliminated from the house. I definitely feel used.” Upon being asked if the makers were manipulative, Akanksha said, “You can say that.”

After the 30-second kiss, Salman apologised to the audience during Weekend Ka Vaar and said, “Aap sabko aisa lagta hai ki ye week ka highlight tha. Parvarish, parivaar, morality, kya woh task apne sabhyata ko leke tha (You all think this was the highlight of the week. Was it according to our upbringing, familial values and culture)? You don’t need to apologise to me for whatever you did. I don’t care. I’m out of here. I’m leaving this show.”
