The probe into the September 12 firing outside the ancestral residence of Bollywood actor Disha Patani in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly has revealed that the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang first sent two shooters on September 11, who only fired one round. Dissatisfied, the gang sent another pair of shooters the next day.
According to a source, when the first pair of shooters, hailing from Baghpat, returned and informed Godara through their handlers that they had fired two rounds, this agitated him. “He asked to send two different men, who later fired around 10-12 rounds,” the source added.

The second incident took place in the early hours of September 12 when two men on a bike fired around 10-12 rounds at Patani’s residence and fled.
Two of the four shooters, identified as Ravindra, a resident of Rohtak, and Arun, from Sonipat, Haryana, were killed in Ghaziabad’s Tronica City in an encounter by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell, Haryana Special Task Force (STF), and Uttar Pradesh STF on September 17.
The two other shooters were identified as minors and have been apprehended by the Counter-Intelligence Unit of the Delhi Police.
On September 12, after the second firing incident, absconding gangsters Brar and Godara claimed responsibility for the attack on social media. They said that the firing was retaliation for an alleged insult directed at spiritual gurus Premanand Maharaj and Anirudh Acharya Maharaj by Disha’s sister Khushboo.
Disha and Khushboo’s father, Jagdish Singh Patani, told the media that his daughter’s statement was misrepresented and that it was a conspiracy to demean them. “Khushboo was misrepresented. Her name was dragged into the matter of Premanand Ji Maharaj. We are Sanatanis, and we respect sadhus and saints. If someone is misrepresenting her statement, it is a conspiracy to demean us. Two unidentified assailants fired at my residence,” he told ANI.
The UP Police had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh each for all four shooters.
