Veteran actor Tulasi is best known for playing wholesome mother figures in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada films. The actor has also appeared in supporting roles in many big-budget films over the years. Recently, Tulasi shocked fans by announcing her retirement from films. She posted three posts on Instagram, hinting at her decision to quit films and dedicate her life to Sai Baba.
Tulasi first posted a picture of Sai Baba’s legs with the caption: “Guard and guide me and my son Sai!! oh deva oh Sainadha.”
She followed it up with another post an hour later: “Trust your intuition. You don’t need to explain or justify your feelings to anyone, just trust your own inner guidance; it knows best.”
Following these cryptic posts, the actor mentioned her retirement in a subsequent post, which read: “In continuation of my shirdi darshan this december 31’ i’wish myself a happy retirement will continue my journey in peace with SAINADHA 🙋🏻♀️thanking 🙏🏻 all for helping me learn life SAIRAM.”

Tulasi made her screen debut in the 1967 Telugu film Bharya when she was just three months old. She began her career as a child artist with Arangetram (1973) and went on to star in films like Seetamalakshmi (1978), Sankarabharanam (1979), and Mudda Mandaram (1981).
As a supporting actor, she has been seen in numerous films, including Sasirekha Parinayam, Mr. Perfect, Darling, Srimanthudu, Iddarammayilatho, Nenu Local, Mahanati, Dear Comrade, Pillaiyar Theru Kadaisi Veedu, Easan, Mankatha, Sundarapandian, Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer, and Pandiya Naadu.
In her career that spanned over four decades, Tulasi shared screen space with the likes of Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth, Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Asif Ali, and Ram Pothineni, among others.
