Telugu actors Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi, who tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony in 2023, are expecting their first child. The couple took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the happy news. They shared an adorable photo of themselves holding hands, with their fingers gently clasping a pair of crocheted baby shoes.

Along with the picture, the caption read, “Life’s most beautiful role yet — coming soon.” The duo’s colleagues took to the comments section to congratulate them. “Omgggg congratulations,” wrote Rakul Preet Singh. Allu Arjun’s wife Allu Sneha Reddy commented, “Congratulations”. Kajal Aggarwal extended her best wishes and wrote, “Big congratulations! Lots of love to all three of you.” Aditi Rao Hydari also sent a “big hug” to the actors. Fans flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages for the soon-to-be parents.

In an old interview with Deccan Chronicle, Lavanya Tripathi called her married life ‘exciting’. “My in-laws make sure that I am very comfortable, and that’s such a nice thing. When I go back to my in-laws’ home after a days’ work, I feel just the same as I did when I returned home to my own family before marriage,” she said.

Speaking about their initial courtship days, the actor added, “We were just two friends talking, that’s how it all started. Later, we checked up on each other’s well-being and kept updating each other about developments in our lives. So Varun became my best friend. Getting to marry your best friend is a blessing.”

Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi got married in a wedding ceremony in November 2023 in Tuscany, Italy, after dating each other for more than five years.

On the professional front, Varun Tej was last seen in the period action drama Matka. Helmed by Karuna Kumar, the film also starred Meenakshi Chaudhary and Nora Fatehi. On the other hand, Lavanya Tripathi will next be seen in Sathi Leelavathi.
