Samantha Ruth Prabhu celebrated Independence Day in the US along with the Indian diaspora there, who are also big fans of the actor. Pictures and videos of Samantha from the 41st India Day Parade held in New York are making the rounds of social media. In the pictures and videos, Samantha is seen all smiles walking with her fans on the streets of New York.
The actor also presided over the event as the chief guest. Speaking at the event, Samantha said, “Jai Hind. It’s truly an honour to be here today. You have made me realise how rich my culture and heritage is. Things I saw today will last for a lifetime. Thank you for supporting me throughout my career. Thank you, USA for supporting every single film of mine as your own.”
The US is a huge market for Telugu films as it has an enormous Telugu-speaking population, and Samantha’s Yashoda performed well in the country.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu also shared some pictures from her visit to the US on her Instagram handle. Even during travel, the actor has not skipped her gym routine as she can be seen working out in a gym in one of the photos. She also posted a selfie with the Statue of Liberty in the background.
Samantha is currently on a year-long break from acting. She earlier was in Bali, but paid a short visit to India to promote her upcoming film Kushi, which also has Vijay Deverkonda in the lead role. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the movie will be released in theatres on September 1. Other than Kushi, she has Amazon Prime Video’s series Citadel (India) in the pipeline.
