In India, the biggest opener of the year so far was Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan which made Rs 75 crore nett on its first day but Salaar has overtaken that already. However, the box office numbers for all three films declined in the first week.
For director Prashanth Neel, who previously directed the KGF films, this box office opening is not the best of his career. The 2022 film KGF 2 opened with Rs 116 crore nett in India and went on to make over Rs 1000 crore worldwide.
Salaar also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. The film was produced by Vijay Kiragandur and will be released in two parts: Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire and Shouryaanga Parvam as Part 2.
