Pushpa 2 Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 35: The Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule has already become the second-highest Indian grosser of all time after crossing the record set by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Pushpa 2 has made over Rs 1831 crore worldwide and continues to earn more money at the box office. On its 35th day in theatres, the film made Rs 2.15 crore at the domestic box office, which was the same as its 34th day. This has taken the film’s domestic collections to Rs 1213 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.
Previously, the makers of Pushpa 2: The Rule had announced that they would be releasing an extended cut of the film on the festival of Sankranthi. The extended cut included 20 minutes of footage and it was expected that the new version would attract repeat viewers. Now, the extended version won’t be released as previously announced “due to technical delays in processing the content.” The ‘reloaded version’ will now release in theatres on January 17.
Pushpa 2: The Rule has been in theatres for a month now and it hasn’t seen much competition so far. With the release of Shankar’s Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, Pushpa 2 might see a drop in its collections, and the number of screens dedicated to Allu Arjun’s film might also get decreased significantly.
Pushpa 2: The Rule is almost Rs 230 crore away from crossing Dangal’s record of Rs 2070 crore and becoming the highest grossing Indian film of all time. The film could break the record with the help of a few international markets and the release of its extended cut, but right now, it seems that the film’s domestic numbers have hit a saturation point.
The film, also starring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, was made primarily in Telugu but release as a pan-Indian film. Pushpa 2: The Rule was promoted in many Hindi-speaking states as well and the promotional strategy has paid off as the film made almost Rs 800 crore via its Hindi dubbed version. In fact, the film has made more money in Hindi than its original Telugu version.
