Pushpa 2 song Peelings: Days after Allu Arjun teased his fans that the song titled “Peelings” from his upcoming Pushpa 2: The Rule starts off with Malayalam verses, which will be retained in all six languages the film is releasing in, the makers have unveiled the energetic track featuring both the “Icon Star” and “national crush” Rashmika Mandanna, reprising their roles as the love birds Pushpa Raj and his wife Srivalli.
On Sunday, five days prior to the worldwide release of the movie, the Pushpa 2 team released the lyrical video of “Peelings,” crafted in such a way that it will be etched in the minds of listeners and viewers, just like “Saami Saami” from Pushpa: The Rise did. Just as Arjun promised, the song begins with Malayalam verses and then transitions to the pallavi, wherein Pushpa Raj and Srivalli express their “peelings” for one another.
The 4-minute, 11-second lyrical video offers a mix of the song’s actual sequence from the movie along with behind-the-scenes footage. In the video, both Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna can be seen passionately grooving to the track as if in an intense dance-off. Unlike the mostly outdoor setting of “Saami Saami,” the visuals of “Peelings” are entirely set indoors, with background dancers adding to the dynamic energy.
Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the Telugu version’s lyrics are written by Chandrabose, while Shankarr Babu Kandukoori and Laxmi Dasa provided their voices. The Malayalam verses at the beginning are penned by Siju Thuravoor. While Javed Ali and Madhubanti Bagchi have sung the Hindi version, the Tamil, Kannada and Bengali versions have been performed by Senthil Ganesh and Rajalakshmi, Santhosh Venky and Amala Chebolu, and Timir Biswas and Arpita Chakraborty, with lyrics penned by Raqueeb Alam, Viveka, Varadaraj Chikkaballapura and Srijato, respectively.
Written and directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to his 2021 action drama Pushpa: The Rise, which earned Allu Arjun his first National Film Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, in association with Sukumar Writings, the movie’s cinematography is by Miresłow Kuba Brożek and it is edited by Navin Nooli. Pushpa 2 is set to hit the screens worldwide on Thursday.
