Pushpa 2’s most expensive ticket costs Rs 1800 in Delhi; Telangana govt allows hike in ticket price, special shows before release day

Pushpa 2 special screening will be available for fans on December 4 across Telangana. Single screen theatres and multiplexes are allowed to increase the ticket price by Rs 800 for this special show.

Pushpa: The Rule, the much-awaited sequel of Pushpa: The Rise is all set to release in theatres on December 5. Ahead of the film’s release, makers have opened advance bookings for all major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chandigarh. However, the advance bookings for the film in Hyderabad are yet to open, which is being seen as the primary market for the film. Advance bookings in Chennai and Kochi have also not opened yet. In Delhi, the tickets are being sold for as high as Rs 1800 and in Mumbai and Bengaluru, the most expensive tickets are being sold for Rs 1600 and Rs 1000 respectively.

While the film will release in theatres on December 5 across the country, the Telangana government has allowed a special screening for fans across the state on December 4, 9:30 pm onwards, a day before the original release date. The special show will happen in Telangana will happen in both single screen theatres as well as multiplexes. The government has also allowed a price hike for the tickets of this special show and the theatre owners can increase the price by Rs 800. However, this is only applicable for the special show on December 4.


On the release day, Telangana government has allowed two additional shows at 1 am and 4 am apart from the five standard shows. For these extra shows, the single screen theatre are allowed to increase their ticket price by Rs 150 until December 8. From December 9-16, the ticket price can be increased by Rs 105 and from December 17-23, the price can be increased by Rs 20. After December 23, the tickets will be available for standard rates.

Similarly, multiplexes can increase their ticket prices by Rs 200 from December 5-8. From December 9-16, they can increase prices by Rs 150 and from December 17-23, ticket prices can be increased by Rs 50 across Telengana. These rates are excluding GST.

The bookings for Chennai and Kerala will open December 1.

So far, Pushpa: The Rule has sold around 50,000 tickets across India excluding the cities where the advance bookings are yet to begin. The film has earned about Rs 1.51 crore in all languages in advance bookings, according to Sacnilk. The film’s runtime is as long as three hours and twenty minutes. The film has successfully bagged a U/A certificate. Pushpa 2 has also created a buzz in the overseas market. The film has reportedly earned Rs 30 crore in advance bookings worldwide.

Pushpa: The Rule, directed by Sukumar, stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles.
