In Priyanka Chopra-Jonas’ over two-decade career, she has predominantly acted in just Hindi films with a solitary sojourn in Tamil with the Vijay-starrer Thamizhan (2002), which marked her onscreen debut. Since then, Priyanka hasn’t acted in a South Indian film. However, now, she is set to make her Telugu debut with SS Rajamouli’s big-budget actioner, SSMB 29, headlined by Mahesh Babu. Even though the makers haven’t officially announced the inclusion of Priyanka, it is confirmed with reports from the shooting spot, and social media activity of the actor. Now rumour mills are abuzz about Priyanka starring in Atlee‘s next, which will feature Allu Arjun in the lead.

However, Pinkvilla reported that Priyanka will not be starring in the Allu Arjun-Atlee film, and she wasn’t approached for the project either. Quoting a source, they shared that Priyanka was indeed one of the choices for Atlee’s next, which was initially supposed to star Salman Khan in the lead. “Priyanka Chopra Jonas was never approached for Allu Arjun starrer. Interestingly, she was one of the choices for a film with Salman Khan and Atlee, which is not happening anymore,” said the source.
The Allu Arjun film is billed to be a parallel reality project, and is said to be the first dual role of his career. An official announcement about the project, which is backed by Sun Pictures, is expected to be out on April 8 on the occasion of Allu Arjun’s birthday. The film will go on floors in August.
The source also revealed that the promo will showcase the scale of the movie, and Allu Arjun’s dual roles. The makers shared a photo with the caption, “A Magnum Opus where mass meets magic.”
Although the film was started as a project with Salman Khan in the lead, the project fell through after multiple discussions, and the director and actor amicably parted ways. Apart from this project, Allu Arjun is also set to collaborate with Trivikram Srinivas. The duo have worked together in films like Ala Vaikunthapurramulo, Julayi, and S/O Sathyamurthy.
