The much-publicised wedding of actors Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala happened in December, 2024. While there was a lot of positivity surrounding the wedding with people showering love and affection towards the couple, Naga Chaitanya received targeted hate over his new relationship, and the hate spilt over to Sobhita’s social media too. For the unversed, Naga Chaitanya was previously married to actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and they mutually separated after almost four years of marriage in 2021.
Immediately after the separation, camps of fans were formed. Some supporting Naga Chaitanya, while others supported Samantha. In a recent podcast interview with Vamshi Kurapati on the Raw Talks with VK podcast, Naga Chaitanya, who was promoting his recent film, Thandel, opened up about how this hate and speculation about his personal life impacted his now-real wife Sobhita. “I feel bad for her actually. She was not at all at fault, and doesn’t deserve whatever came her way,” said the Thandel actor.
Talking about how Sobhita entered his life, Naga Chaitanya said, “We met in an organic and beautiful way. Our friendship started after a chat on social media. It built beautifully, and honestly, she wasn’t connected to my past in any way. That’s why I get really angry and disappointed to see her be at the receiving end of spill-over hate over my previous relationship.”
Showering Sobhita with a lot of praise, Naga Chaitanya expressed his gratitude for her understanding. “I must thank her for understanding everything. She displayed a lot of maturity to navigate through all of this. It is not easy to face all this. Sobhita is a true hero for me.”
In an earlier interview with The New York Times, Sobhita and Chaitanya said that they first spoke a year after his separation from Samantha. “It was cute, and it was steady. It’s not a case of two tender hearts falling in love. It was more like two metals being welded by the same wants from life, and we were able to speak about those things freely without inhibitions. That moved me,” she said.
