Citadel directors Raj and DK on Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Shaakuntalam: ‘This film is a Samantha show all the way’

Citadel and The Family Man directors Raj and DK heaped praise on Samantha Ruth Prabhu after watching her film Shaakuntalam.

Telugu actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu‘s mythological drama Shaakuntalam has hit theatres. The film is garnering a positive response and the latest to join the list of admirers are filmmakers Raj and DK. The director duo took to social media to congratulate Samantha on her performance in the film.

Raj and DK tweeted, “Magical visuals, authentic storytelling… this beautiful film is a Samantha show all the way! There could be no better ode to Kalidasa’s masterpiece. @Samanthaprabhu2 only you could have carried this huge epic on those slender shoulders! Kudos to the entire team! Must watch 👍🏽.”

The second tweet read, “Sam, the world knows that the last few months haven’t been easy for you, yet you powered through with willpower, determination & grit. You’re a total trooper… time and again you’ve overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. God bless, stay strong & keep the fight on.”

Replying to Raj and DK’s tweet, Samantha Ruth Prabhu wrote,” And even when I fall.. you have always picked me up. Thank you”

Samantha, who is battling an autoimmune condition called myositis, promoted Shaakuntalam across the country. However, on Thursday, Samantha posted that her health has taken a toll due to the hectic schedule.

She wrote, “I was really excited to be amongst you all this week promoting my film and soaking in your love. Unfortunately the hectic schedules and promotions have taken its toll, and I am down with a fever and have lost my voice. Please join team #Shaakuntalam at the Annual Day Event of MLRIT this evening… will miss you.”

After Shaakuntalam, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen in Kushi alongside Vijay Deverakonda, and in Raj and DK’s Citadel. The Indian edition of Citadel also stars Varun Dhawan.
