Chiranjeevi on welcoming granddaughter: ‘Ram Charan’s career growth… we can see the positive impact on our family from the start’

The Telugu star, along with his wife were also spotted at the hospital in the early hours of Tuesday. Chiranjeevi was seen looking emotional as he exited the hospital premise and sat in his car.

Later addressing the media, Chiranjeevi said the whole family is immensely happy to welcome the newborn on Tuesday, their favourite day of the week. “The baby girl was born at 1:49 am on Tuesday. Our entire family is overjoyed. This occasion holds immense significance for us as we had been wishing for Ram Charan and Upasana to become parents for many years. On this special occasion, I would like to express gratitude to everyone who has shown support and sent wishes. We are delighted to welcome our granddaughter, especially on our favorite day, Tuesday. It is believed that the baby girl was born during auspicious hours, and her horoscope is also remarkable. We can see the positive impact on our family right from the start. Charan’s career growth and Varun’s engagement, everything is going well in our family,” he said.

Ram Charan’s RRR co-star NTR Jr also congratulated him. “Congratulations @AlwaysRamCharan and @upasanakonidela. Welcome to the parents club. Every moment spent with the baby girl will be an unforgettable memory for a life time. May God bless her and you all with immense happiness,” he wrote.

Ram and Upasana announced their pregnancy in December last year. Post which, the two were seen at the Oscars promoting RRR. Last week, Upasana took to her Instagram handle and shared an image from the hospital. Along with the picture, she wrote, “Something very special coming soon.” Upasana’s family recently also hosted a baby shower for her and Upasana shared the pictures on her Instagram handle. She wrote in the caption, “Soooo grateful for all the love.”

Upasana and Ram Charan have welcomed their first baby after ten years of marriage. Recently, in an interview with Humans of Bombay, Upasana had opened up about late pregnancy. She said, “I am very, very excited and also very proud that I chose to become a mother when we wanted to, not when society wanted to. So, ten years after our marriage, we have taken a call to have a kid now and I think it’s the best time because both of us are booming, both of us are financially secure and we can take care of our kids by ourselves.”

On the work front, Ram Charan was last seen in SS Rajamouli’s RRR. The actor is currently gearing up for his Hollywood debut, and also has a film with Kiara Advani in the pipeline.
