Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari has emerged as the winner at the Telugu box office. Despite competition from Ravi Teja’s Tiger Nageswara Rao and Vijay’s Leo in the Telugu states, Bhagavanth Kesari has managed to mint a whopping Rs 130.01 crore at the box office in a matter of 11 days. The production house of the film, Shine Screens, announced the official box office figure on Twitter.
“The audience keeps pouring in their Love for #BhagavanthKesari in its 2nd weekend. WW 130.01CR Gross in 11 DAYS for #BlockbusterBhagavanthKesari,” read the tweet.
On Day 11, according to Sacnilk, Bhagavanth Kesari minted Rs 4.1 crore at the Indian box office with a theatre occupancy of about 56 per cent. This is a significant increase from the collection of the film during the weekdays. Last Friday, the film only collected Rs 2.1 crore at the box office, which doubled on Sunday. The film is expected to take a dip in the coming days, but Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film will be at the top of the charts till another new release in Telugu.
The film received decent reviews. Indianexpress.com’s Raghu Bandi gave the film a 2.5 stars rating and wrote, “Bhagavanth Kesari tries hard not to be a regular Nandamuri Balakrishna movie while having all the signature moments die-hard fans will expect from him. Bhagavanth Kesari has its dull moments, but it also has its entertaining moments. All in all, the movie is a decent entertainer this Dasara.”
Other than Balakrishna, Bhagavanth Kesari also stars Sreeleela, Kajal Aggarwal and Arjun Rampal in pivotal roles. The film has music by S Thaman.
