The much-anticipated sequel to Allu Arjun’s blockbuster hit Pushpa: The Rise, has been postponed, sparking widespread outrage among fans. Originally slated for an August 15 release, Pushpa: The Rule will now hit theatres on December 6, 2024. This unexpected delay has left fans heartbroken and furious, with many taking to social media to express their discontent. One fan even threatened to file a case against the makers for playing with the emotions of fans.

The news of the postponement was announced by the makers of Pushpa, who cited the need for additional time to complete the remaining shoot and post-production work. They emphasized their commitment to delivering a high-quality film, stating that they do not want to compromise on the final product. However, this explanation did little to assuage the disappointment of eager fans.

On Twitter, the reaction was swift and intense. One user wrote, “The movie was releasing in June 2024. Why this has been shifted to Dec 2024. Is this a joke to the filmmakers. Playing with the emotions of audience. On behalf of Puspha Community i will file a case in Court to release it ASAP.” This tweet, one among many, encapsulates the frustration felt by many, who have been eagerly awaiting the return of their favorite characters, Pushpa Raj and Srivalli, played by Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna.

Another fan expressed disappointment, tweeting, “We waited so long for #Pushpa2, and now this! Unacceptable. Do you know what this means for us? We were counting days. Please reconsider.” The sentiment was echoed by many others, highlighting the deep emotional investment fans have in the film. Here are some of the tweets:

Directed by Sukumar of Rangasthalam fame, Pushpa The Rule also stars Fahadh Faasil in an antagonist role. Many big budget films have been changing their release dates, which could be symptomatic of a larger scheduling problem. It has to be noted the first half of 2024 had very few hits from Tamil and Telugu industry.
