Before the Telugu actor was arrested by the police on Friday, he was seen kissing Sneha on the cheek while leaving. Meanwhile, Arjun also spoke to the media for the first time after his release from jail on Saturday morning. He said, “I am a law-abiding citizen and will cooperate. I would like to once again express my condolences to the family. It was an unfortunate incident.”
He had to spend Friday night in jail despite being granted bail by the Telangana High Court, as the authorities had not received a copy of the bail order until late Friday night. His counsel Ashok Ready spoke to the reports at the prison and said, “He has been released.” Right after the release, he was driven to his house, where he reunited with his family.
Arjun’s counsel Ashok also claimed that the jail authorities did not release him despite receiving the High Court order copy. “You should question the government and the department why they have not released the accused. The High Court order is very specific. Fourthwith, the moment you (prison authorities) receive the order, ( they should) release him. Despite the clear order, they have not released, they have to answer. This is an illegal detention. We will take legal steps,” he said.
