Actor Hiten Tejwani has been a popular television actor since the early 2000s and has appeared in shows like Ghar Ek Mandir, Kutumb and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, among many others. Hiten appeared in many other Balaji Telefilms’ shows at the time and was also seen in many reality shows with his wife, actor Gauri Tejwani. In a recent interview, Hiten shared that a television actor can easily make Rs 1 crore in one year.

Hiten was asked about the kind of money a television actor can make and he told Digital Commentary, “If we calculate by say minimum Rs 7 lakhs for 30 days of shoot, then that makes it Rs 84 lakhs in a year and then there are some ads inside or any performances that one is doing like some dance perforce then they will pay you a little extra. So it can go up to Rs 1 crore.”

Previously, actor Vikrant Massey had shared that he was making Rs 35 lakh in a month during his time in television, when he decided to quit it. In a chat on the YouTube channel Unfiltered by Samdish, Vikrant had shared, “I earned a lot of money when working in TV. I bought my first home at 24, I was earning 35 lakh per month. It was a lot for someone from a family like mine where we struggled to make ends meet. After I bought the home, paid off debts, gave my parents a better life, I still couldn’t sleep peacefully. I quit at that stage because good work felt more important. All my savings were exhausted and Sheetal (his wife) would lend me money to attend auditions.”

Many television actors, including Hiten and his wife Gauri, have also spoken about the chaotic work schedules in the television industry that are physically and mentally exhausting. Hiten Tejwani’s wife, actor Gauri Pradhan, who also worked for several years in shows such as Kutumb, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Naam Gum Jayegaa once shared that working in television shows can be extremely tiring. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, the actor said, “When you do a television show, even if you do one show for a long time, and then you do a movie, it’s like cake walk. It’s like you are on a holiday. It’s so easy and breezy that there is no issue…”

Radhika Madan previously said that television actors are sometimes required to work 40-50 hours at a stretch.
