In the second episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, star cricketers Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer took centre stage as guests. During their interaction with comedian Kapil Sharma, the conversation delved into various aspects of their on-field dynamics with fellow players. Additionally, Kapil directed questions to Rohit’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, who also serves as his manager, about her experiences managing the cricketer.
During the show, Kapil asked Rohit if any player has requested him not to hit sixes in a match because their girlfriend was present at the stadium, Rohit responded saying, “Yes, of course, we have had conversations like this but I tell them that, ‘While its your girlfriend present at the stadium, I have my wife watching the match.’ She sits with her fingers crossed during the whole match. So, she is more important for me.”
Then Kapil Sharma turned to Ritika Sajdeh to ask questions. He asked, “Is he tougher to manage as a husband or as a cricketer?” Ritika answered, “As a husband. As a captain, he has his team to manage him. I don’t have to do anything.” Rohit quickly quipped, “She can’t enter the field nor the dressing room but I have to enter the house. She is the captain there.”
Beyond the lighthearted moments, the episode also witnessed Rohit Sharma opening up about the emotional toll of India’s loss in the 2023 World Cup. The show is currently streaming on Netflix.
