The Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah controversy is thickening every day. The show’s actress, who recently accused producer Asit Kumarr Modi of sexual and mental harassment, has ascertained that her complaint against the producer of the show and two others is not for monetary gains. She has said that all she wants is an ‘apology’ and her fight is for ‘self-respect’ and ‘justice’.
While speaking to ANI, the actress said, “One most important thing- I am not doing this for money; I am doing this only for truth and victory. They have to accept that they have done wrong to me and will have to apologise with folded hands that ‘We are sorry’. Because this is the matter of my dignity and self-respect.”
During the same interview, the actress claimed that she has accused Modi only of ‘verbal harassment’. She said, “People are saying that Asit Modi had physical relations with me, I want to say that there is nothing like that. He just said verbal things to me.”
In an earlier interview with ETimes, the actress had shared an incident that occurred in March 2019 when she was shooting for the show in Singapore and Asit’s comments made her extremely uncomfortable. She said that at the time, she told two of her co-stars about the same and they tried to keep her away from the producer.
As of now, no complaint has been registered by the Mumbai Police against any of the accused. Also, Modi has said he will take legal action against the actress for defaming him and his show. He also accused her of unprofessional behaviour and lack of discipline on the set of the show.
