TV actors Shoaib Ibrahim and his wife Dipika Kakar Ibrahim were vacationing in Kashmir with their family up until the day of the Pahalgam terror attack. Although the couple flew out of Srinagar that morning, Shoaib had shared an Instagram Story assuring followers that everyone was safe. However, the Sasural Simar Ka actor faced backlash for mentioning—within the same post—that he would be uploading a new vlog soon. Many viewers felt this was insensitive in light of the tragic event. Recently, Shoaib addressed the backlash over his Instagram Story. In his latest vlog, he also condemned the attack.
Shoaib said, “If there is a terror attack in any part of the world, humanity feels ashamed. The people who did this are not humans. We will never be able to understand the pain their families have suffered. We were there too, but not on the day of the attack. I cannot imagine the situation at that time. The videos that we saw on social media were heart-wrenching. The culprits should be punished severely.”
Mentioning how people ‘made an issue’ out of his Instagram Story, Shoaib Ibrahim went on to explain, “We flew from Srinagar to Delhi on 22nd April. While we were mid-flight, the Pahalgam terror attack occurred, and we did not know about it until we landed. Our phones got a proper network almost after a week. So when we switched on our phones, we received messages asking if we were safe.”
“Initially, we thought people were just checking on us. It was only after reaching the hotel that we learned that there had been an attack in Pahalgam. Till then, what we had gotten to know was that one or two people had gotten injured. Following the messages from fans, I just posted a story on Instagram, but it was simply blown out of proportion. I had no intentions of promoting my vlog, till then I only had limited information,” Shoaib added.
Lastly, he shared, “Later, when we learned about the grave situation, we also felt very bad because we had just stayed there a few days before. I did not delete the story, because my intention was not wrong, yet I received so many abuses. A lot of you don’t even follow me or have seen my channel, no one cares to check if I uploaded a new vlog. And even if I did, why are Dipika and I targeted? Everyone else has vlogged, and films have been promoted, everyone’s life is going on. Then why are we only trolled?”
On the work front, while Shoaib Ibrahim has been busy with content creation, his wife, Dipika Kakar, was last seen on Celebrity Masterchef.
