Shefali Jariwala Death Live Updates: Shefali collapsed due to ‘low BP’ was fasting on day of death; Arti Singh recalls how husband Parag ‘pampered her’

The police are leaving no gap in their probe. A report by ETimes reads that police have already recorded statements from 14 people. These include her family members, domestic staff,and close friends who often met Shefali. This will help them build a clear timeline of her last days.

The police said that Shefali was observing a fast on Sunday for satyanarayan pooja performed at their residence. Her husband, Parag Tyagi told the police that she collapsed after consuming food that was prepared a day before. The police have recorded statements of the actor’s husband and family members. The police also found two boxes containing anti-ageing tablets, skin glow tablets and vitamin tablets and Shefali's family said that she had been taking the tablets without doctor’s consultation but it never caused any problem to her, said a police officer as shared in a report by HT.

As per a report by NDTV, Shefali's post-mortem was conducted at Cooper Hospital. Officials confirmed that the post-mortem report is being prepared by a team of 5 doctors and its preliminary report is likely to come today.

A latest update by a police officer, as shared by HT, says that the doctors suspect a sudden drop in blood pressure may be the cause of Shefali Jariwala’s death. Police have ruled out any foul play in the actor’s death and the final post-mortem report is still awaited

Following the funeral of Shefali Jariwala, Varun Dhawan took to his Instagram stories and wrote, "Again one more passing of a soul being insensitively covered by the media. I just don't understand why do u have to cover someone's grief everyone looks so uncomfortable with this how is this benefitting anyone. — my request to my friends in the media this isn't the way someone would want their final journey covered."

After Shefali Jariwala’s untimely demise, singer Mika Singh told reporters, “Bilkul shocking news hai humare sab ke liye. Jab mujhe ye message aaya toh mujhe laga koi jhooth mujhe bol raha hai. Main bohot hi zyada sad hu. Bhagwan uski aatma ko shanti de. Bohot jaldi woh chali gayi hai. Just 42 years. Aur kya kaaran raha, woh toh bhagwan hi jaane. But humesha humare dilo mein rahegi. Hum humesha usko yaad rakhenge.”

In an interview with Zoom, Rohan Mehra recalled working with Shefali Jariwala and said, "Working with her on Class of 2020 Season 2 was an absolute delight. The show hasn’t been released yet, but I carry some truly fond memories of our time together. Her talent, energy, and kindness lit up every scene. I’m grateful for the moments we shared on set — her smile will always stay with me. May her soul rest in peace."

Arti Singh shared photos of Shefali Jariwala on Instagram and wrote, "I just can’t believe it. TIL the time I saw u yest. I couldn’t. We just met in gym week back and u said Arti tere liye bohut khushi hoti hai. Tu khush hai na. Sath mein cardio karenge. We made plans just a week back. Whenever someone asked kis kis se aaj bhi baat karte ho dosti hai I use to say SHEFU. I never thought in my wildest dreams u would go. U were a crazy super happy child..u gave me love and blessing always. Never ever spoke or gossip about anyone. Clean at heart. Why why why god would do this. I love u and wil always love you. In a conversation with Mid Day,  'Kaanta Laga' co-director Vinay Sapru said, “When we met her just 20 days ago, she told us how proud she was that Kaanta laga remained iconic even after two decades. She wanted to do something new that could stay memorable for another 20 years.”

Esha Deol shared a photo of Shefali Jariwala on Instagram and wrote, "May your soul rest in peace. Deepest condolences to the family. Om Shanti."

According to police sources, on Friday afternoon, Shefali Jariwala had reportedly received an injection—believed to be an anti-aging drug she had been using for the past few years under expert supervision. At night, she took her usual medication. Following this, her blood pressure is said to have dropped drastically, and she began shivering, prompting her family to rush her to the hospital. As per PTI, Shefali's last rites were performed by her husband Parag Tyagi, her father Satish Jariwala, and younger sister Shivani Jariwala. The funeral was held Oshiwara Hindu crematorium

Singer Mika Singh arrived at the crematorium to pay his final respects to Shefali Jariwala.

Shefali Jariwala was dressed in red for cremation and her husband Parag Tyagi was seen kissing her forehead before her last rites.

“The autopsy has been done, but the opinion on the cause of death has been reserved. Based on preliminary information, it appears to be a natural death, and there was no foul play,” a police official told PTI. The Mumbai police have registered an accidental death report (ADR).

Shefali Jariwala was cremated at Oshiwara crematorium on Saturday evening. The 42-year-old actor passed away on Friday night at her home in Andheri. She was declared dead upon her arrival at the hospital.

"One of the most shocking moments of my life. I'm absolutely shattered and in disbelief about Shefali's dudden and untimely demise. We shared few beautiful years together a long tine ago - memories I'll always hold close to my heart. My deepest condolences to her parents - Satish ji and Sunita ji, her husband Parag and her sister Shivani. Being away in Europe right now, it's painful for me not to be able to be there for the last rites. Gone far too son. I pray to the Almighty for her soul to rest in peace, and strength to the family during this unimaginable time. Jai Shree Krishna," Shefali's ex-husband Harmeet Singh shared on Instagram.

Shehnaaz Gill arrived at the Oshiwara crematorium as she paid her final respects to Shefali Jariwala.

“Shefali Jariwala was brought to the hospital around 11:15 pm. The on-duty doctor declared her dead on arrival,” a hospital source told PTI and added that the cause of her death is yet to be determined. "Her body was found at her residence in Andheri. The police received the information at 1 am (Saturday). Her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem. The cause of her death is not yet clear," police stated.

"We met at an event in Chandigarh. She had a very lively heart. And when I met her last time, she looked very happy. She was glowing. Her eyes looked as if you were looking at two shining diamonds." Raza Murad told ANI. "We can only pray to God, for the peace of her soul, that wherever she lives, she should be happy. She had some sorrows and pains. Everyone has them. Now, she is free from all sorrows and pains." Murad concluded, "She has left us forever. But she has left her memories. She has left her song, which will always remain in our hearts and minds, in our memories, till the end of time."

"She was like a daughter to me, not a sister. We spoke often, but there were three special days when she always called me. On those days, I would wait eagerly for her call, wondering what time she'd call, what I should cook for her... Now that my daughter is no longer in this world, all I can do is wait for a call that will never come," Vikas Fhatak, popularly known as Hindustani Bhau, told ANI. "I hardly make anyone my own. I find it difficult to form bonds with people. But there are some relationships that I love from the heart. She was one of them -- she was family," he added. "I can't even imagine what must have happened. Right now, they are saying it was a heart attack, but her heart wasn't that weak. Though she was a woman, she was like a son to her family -- she took care of everyone. Only the post-mortem report will tell us the real reason behind her death," Bhau added.

Once speaking to the Times of India, Shefali revealed, "I was in college then and I come from a family of academicians, so my parents told me to focus on my studies. But I wanted to do it because I was getting paid for it. I earned Rs 7,000 from that song Kaanta Laga, and I wanted to see myself on TV."

After a section of social media users trolled Parag Tyagi for taking his pet dog out for a walk after Shefali Jariwala’s death, Rashami Desai has come out in his support. She shared the clip on her Instagram handle and said, "Simba was more than just a pet – he was Shefali’s beloved son. Her sudden passing leaves a huge void, and I urge the media to respect the family’s grief and give them space during this difficult time. Let’s show empathy and understanding, not sensationalism."

Actor and Shefali Jariwala's close friend Pooja Ghai was seen at her residence. She also interacted with the police officials there.

Actor Sayantani Ghosh shared a picture of Shefali Jariwala on Instagram and wrote, "Rest in peace, Shefali. Gone too soon. Life is so unpredictable n fragile. We really don’t know what’s in store the very next moment."

According to reports, Shefali Zariwala’s last rites will take place today, June 28, 2025 at the crematorium in Oshiwara. Siddharth Shukla’s last rites also took place at the same shamshaan bhoomi.

Shefali Jariwala and Parag Tyagi's bond deepened when she stood by him during a tough time in his life, during his father's health crisis. During that time, Shefali even brought Parag's parents to Mumbai and reportedly took care of them. Per reports, they were supposed to get married earlier, but they postponed the wedding for family reasons. They tied the knot on August 12, 2014.

Actor Surbhi Chandna was seen arriving at Cooper Hospital to pay her final respects to Shefali Jariwala.

Celebrity chef Kunal Kapur also took to his Instagram to pay tribute to Shefali Jariwala. He wrote, "Life is so fragile. Just forgive and forget. Hug those who you love and spend time being happy with the ones you care for. Shocked & saddened over this horrible news of Shefali passing away."

Actor Arjun Bijlani told SCREEN, "It is absolutely sad and shocking . She was just 42 .. we have chilled together a couple of times and she was absolutely a lively woman . Always smiling and very Witty as well . May god give her family all the strength they need and may her soul rest in peace."

When asked if epilepsy led to Shefali Jariwala's demise, her close friend said, "She had no issues. Just a day before, she took a walk in the society. She was totally fine."

One of Shefali Jariwala's friends interacted with the media at her residence and shared that the actor was 'absolutely fine' and had no medical issues. She was taken to the hospital last night where she was declared dead at 11:27 pm. Her friend also added that Shefali was actively doing her events and shows and used to travel quite often for work both out of India and in the country too.

Aarti Singh was seen with her husband at Cooper Hospital, to be with Shefali's family at the difficult time.

Expressing her grief, Dipshikkha Nagppal added in her IANS interview, "It's extremely shocking. I got the news this morning and I was just like... what? A heart attack? Why? What was troubling her? What happened? I have so many questions myself. I knew Parag and Shefali as a couple who always walked together in life. I know them both very well. They were an amazing couple — two beautiful human beings. Honestly, I don’t know what’s happening in the world… why we keep losing such pure souls. It’s deeply, deeply sad. All I can say is — may God bless her family, especially Parag. They were so madly in love. People always looked up to them as that ideal couple. I don’t know how he’s going to cope with this. May God give him all the strength he needs. And may Shefali’s soul rest in peace."
