Shark Tank India season 3 has started strong with six returning sharks and six new ones. Clips from various episodes are trending on social media, including a viral one featuring shark Aman Gupta and pitcher Priyasha Saluja from The Cinnamon Kitchen. Aman recently reacted to romantic edits doing the rounds on the internet, and now, Priyasha has revealed that she spoke with him about it.
In a chat with Ayushman Pandita on his podcast, Priyasha opened up about the viral memes, and said, “Honestly, we’ve all just been laughing. I mean, because it’s the way the edits are made and the way they’ve taken it out from the episode, it really shows you what the internet is and meme culture is all about. And we’ve also always been parties to it, right? So now when you’re at the receiving end of it, you just have a good laugh at it.”
When asked if she discussed this with Aman, Priyasha said, “We’re both laughing at it. He was like, ‘My wife and children are laughing.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, my parents are laughing.’ Nobody’s sad. Everybody knows it’s just a joke on the internet and we’re all laughing about it. But I think everybody’s taken it in a good taste.”
During Priyasha’s pitch for The Cinnamon Kitchen, she interrupted Aman’s offer by saying, “Don’t intimidate me like that.” The edited clip, set to the romantic song “Aaj Se Teri” from Pad Man and featuring a scene from Tere Naam, hilariously suggests that Aman has developed feelings for Priyasha, leaving everyone in splits.
Aman had previously commented on an edit saying, “You guys are crazy…… My wife will kill me…. but for sure the edit has come out nice…. Tell the editor to apply for a position in boAt now.”
Priyasha said that she deliberately tried to make the episode entertaining. She said, “When I stepped into Shark Tank, I realised that 50% of the pitches that go on there don’t air. So we very deliberately, if you see the initial part of my pitch also that’s infused with a lot of humor, I try to make it as entertaining as possible.” Talking about the impact of the episode on the sales, the pitcher said, “On the day that the episode aired at night we saw a lot of visitors coming in and uh it was the sale went to about 2x uh now currently after like say 10 days of the episode airing we’re at about 4x continuously. So we were doing about say 80 to 100 orders a day which is gone onto 3x 3.5x.”
