Actress Rupali Ganguly grew to great popularity with her show Anupamaa. Being one of the leading daily soaps on Indian television, Anupamaa often keeps making headlines. Recently the show was in the news after one of its lead actors Sudhanshu Pandey quit the show. Once again the Rajan Shahi show is in the news as the old audition video of the show’s leading actress Rupali Ganguly that has emerged online. In the video, Rupali is seen dressed up like her character Anupamaa.
While in this audition, Rupali is seen talking to her daughter, her accent is very different to that of Anupamaa. Ever since the video surfaced on YouTube it has been notching up views. Many fans pointed out how her accent is evolved over time while others called her casting ‘perfect’.
Anupamaa marks Rupali’s comeback on TV, and earlier the actress had shared how getting cast for this role was sheer luck for her. In several interviews earlier, Rupali Ganguly had shared how she had her reservations about playing this role, but Rajan was convinced with her, they never imagined it would get so big.
Rupali had once also shared on Ranveer Alhabadia’s podcast about how she was cast for the role. She had said, “I wasn’t sure if he’d cast me, because I’d troubled him a lot on the first show. The first thing that he asked me was, ‘Have you grown up?’ And I said, ‘Yes, I have a child now’. And Rajan ji decided to cast me. I didn’t know the show was called Anupamaa, till the trailer came in.”
Anupamaa went on air in 2020 and has been the highest-rated show in the last four years. Before Anupamaa, Rupali was celebrated for her character in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. Recently, Rupali also ventured into politics.
