The Saath Nibhaana Saathiya star, Gia Manek—fondly remembered as the OG Gopi Bahu—has embarked on a new chapter in her life. The actress, who played the iconic role before being replaced by Devoleena Bhattacharjee in 2012, is now married to actor Varunn Jain. On Thursday, the couple announced their wedding through a joint Instagram post, sharing two candid pictures from their special day.

Dressed in matching gold outfits, Gia looked radiant in a simple gold saree adorned with traditional jewelry, red-and-gold bangles, and a gajra tied neatly in her bun. Varunn complemented her in a light-gold ensemble. The photographs captured them laughing together, with Varunn’s arms around his bride.

In the post’s caption, they wrote: “With the grace of the Divine and our Masters, and with all the love showered, we’ve stepped into this forever union — hand in hand, heart to heart. We were two friends, today we’re husband & wife. So grateful for the love, blessings, and wishes from all our loved ones who made this day so special. Cheers to a lifetime of laughter, adventure, memories, and togetherness as Mr. & Mrs.”

What is Bhuta Shuddhi Vivaha?

The duo opted for a Bhuta Shuddhi Vivaha—an ancient yogic ritual for marriage offered by the Isha Foundation. According to the foundation, the practice involves purification of the five elements—earth, water, fire, air, and space—allowing the couple to bond at a profound elemental level. Interestingly, Gia and Varunn chose to disable the comment section on their wedding post, keeping the moment private despite the public announcement.

While Gia continues to be remembered as Gopi Bahu thanks to iconic memes—from the infamous “laptop washing” scene to Yashraj Mukhate’s viral “Rasode Mein Kaun Tha?” remix—Varunn is best known for his roles in Diya Aur Baati Hum and Pehredaar Piya Ki.
