Dipika Kakar was accused of faking her pregnancy: ‘Just because I have not shown my bump openly’

Dipika Kakar shared that trolls have accused her of faking her pregnancy but she does not pay heed to such baseless comments.

Dipika Kakar, who announced her pregnancy a few months ago, recently shared that the “craziest thing” she read about herself was that when someone claimed that she was “faking the bump.” Dipika was speaking about social media trolls and how their comments can sometimes be hurtful.

In a chat with TV Times, Dipika said that a being a celebrity does not protect someone from feeling upset. “We also feel bad. We get upset. I think the craziest thing that I heard is that I’m faking the bump,” she said. Dipika said that she had ready a few comments online where someone said that a particular photo of hers makes it look like she is faking her pregnancy. Someone had even written that she was using a pillow to fake it.

“And I’m like… really? Either no one in their life has ever gotten pregnant. Or if these are women… I don’t understand this thought process,” she said. The Sasural Simar Ka actor said that just because she has not bared her bump for the world to see, people like to accuse her of faking her pregnancy. “Just because I have not shown my bump to them openly, my pregnancy is fake. And I won’t show it. I don’t have to do such things to clarify such hollow accusations,” she said.

Dipika spoke about the online trolls and said that people feel jealous of others’ success and the same thing reflects online. “I feel all these people lack peace in their life. The way we are blessed, they don’t even have one percent of that so that’s why they are jealous because they believe that this cannot happen. They cannot believe that people can be this happy,” she said.

In an earlier chat with the same publication, Dipika had opened up about her miscarriage that happened last year. “When the unfortunate thing happened, it hit me very badly. Shoaib stood like a rock for me because I don’t remember him being sad in front of me. No one in the family got upset in front of me,” she said and added, “took my number of days to come out of it. I was undergoing a treatment and that took a very heavy toll on my body.”
