After facing cyberbullying for months, choreographer-actor Dhanashree Verma is finally scripting her success story by winning the hearts of the audience with her impactful presence in the Ashneer Grover-hosted reality show Rise and Fall. Ever since the show’s launch last week, all eyes have been on Dhanashree to see if she spills more tea on her high-profile divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. Although she has been careful with her moves, she also seems not to be missing out on opportunities to poke fun at the entire life episode and even herself, thus grabbing the audience’s attention.

Recently, she indirectly commented on the “gold digger” label that social media trolls accorded to her. In a new promotional video released by the show’s makers for an upcoming episode, the contestants were paired up and asked to choose between a gold bag containing Rs 2 lakh and a silver bag with Rs 1 lakh. Interestingly, Dhanashree was paired with actor Arjun Bijlani, and the two made the best of the moment together.

Dekho, mujhe diamond, silver thoda suit nahi karta. Mujhe gold suit karta hai (Look, diamonds and silver don’t suit me. Gold suits me),” Arjun told her. Seizing the opportunity, Dhanashree gave a witty reply, taking a jibe at the incessant trolling she has received over the past few months. “Yeh line toh main bol nahi sakti. Agar maine yeh line bol di toh jo mujhe pyaar milne wala hoga who bhi nahi milega (I cannot say this line. If I say this line, I won’t even get the love that I would have gotten otherwise),” she told Arjun, laughing.

Although his fans have been attacking her online ever since the couple’s divorce in March this year, Dhanashree Verma recently shared that she is still in touch with her former husband Yuzvendra Chahal. “Both have accepted everything gracefully, and moved on, and now we wish well for each other. I am in touch with Yuzi also on messages. He used to call me maa, he is sweet only,” she told Farah Khan on her vlog.

However, Dhanashree also responded last month to Yuzvendra’s earlier remark on Raj Shamani’s podcast that they were faking their relationship towards the end. She told Humans of Bombay, “There is a reason why we say personal life. It has to be private. A coin has two sides. You cannot clap with a single hand. Just because I am not speaking, doesn’t give anybody the power to take advantage of that. Its not correct and I don’t think it should happen with anybody. It’s done and dusted, please move on. I do have lots to talk about it, I have my side of the story to it, but do I want to dwell into that? No. Right now, I am working on fixing myself.”
