Cricketer Deepak Chahar’s sister, Malti Chahar, entered Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 19 as a wildcard contestant this week. While Malti has been settling into the game, she has also been sharing stories from her life with the other housemates. In the latest episode of the show, Malti told her fellow contestants how her father used to train her brother Deepak in cricket, and also revisited her own childhood. She recalled that her father wanted her to be an IPS officer, and as a result, she was not allowed to do things that girls of her age would do.
In the latest episode, Malti spoke to Amaal Mallik and Mridul Tiwari and revealed her father named her after a character who was an IPS officer, “Mere papa ka sapna tha mere paida hone se pehle ke ek beti ho aur woh IPS officer bane. He wanted me to become an IPS officer. (Even before I was born, he had a dream to have a daughter who would become an IPS officer).”
She further shared, “Toh unhone bahot koshish ki. Mujhe ghar se bahar jaana allowed nahi tha. Mere boycut the 12th class tak, mujhe ladkiyon jaise kapde pehnna bhi allowed nahi tha. Agar maine mehendi lagayi toh thappad padta tha sidhe. So ladkiyon jaise harkatein allowed nahi thi. I am very comfortable with boys kyunki bachpan se ladkon ke saath he rehi hoon. Papa ke saath rehti thi main aur papa ke doston ke saath. So I’m very used to the male energy. (He tried a lot, I was not allowed to go out, had boy cut hair till 12th standard. I was not allowed to wear girls’ clothes. If I applied mehendi, he would slap me. So, I was not allowed to behave like a girl. I am comfortable around boys because I have been around them since childhood. I used to stay with my father and his friends).”
Malti is an actor, model, content creator, and filmmaker. She was born in Uttar Pradesh in 1990.
