Kapil Sharma recently hosted former cricketers Chris Gayle and Brett Lee on his comedy show, and has now released an uncensored clip from the episode on his YouTube channel. The episode had Kapil talking in English for the most part, and as most of his fans would know, Kapil isn’t too fluent in the language. The uncensored clip from the show has Kapil trying to crack jokes in English, as Archana Puran Singh acts as the translator between him and the guests.

When Kapil started a conversation about Indian food, Archana asked Chris about his favourite Indian dish. The cricketer said that Butter Chicken is his favourite thing to eat in India, and shared that he knows how to cook it as well. “Why did you ask him about Indian chicken? A chicken is a chicken,” Kapil asked Archana, to which she informed that she was talking about an Indian dish that he liked. Archana switched back to Hindi and told Kapil, “Angrezi theek kar apni (You work on your English),” which left everyone in the audience laughing. Kapil responded, “Voh nahi hogi. Aap apni mere jaisi karo. (That’s not going to happen. You can speak it like me.)”

On the show, the cricketers attempted to speak in Hindi and managed to speak a few words. When asked if they were missing Navjot Singh Sidhu on the show, Gayle said, “No, I am not.” Lee said, “It is much better looking at sundar ladki (Archana Puran Singh).” To this, Kapil responded, “After retirement you started flirting also.” Navjot Singh Sidhu used to be a part of Kapil’s show until 2019, when Archana joined the show full-time.

Kapil’s show will go on hiatus starting June. A source previously told indianexpress.com, “Seasonal breaks have actually worked for the show giving us a chance to stir up things in terms of content and cast. Also, comedy is a tough genre and actors need a break so that monotony doesn’t set in. Everyone can return refreshed and we can experiment with a different format and some new characters.”
