Director-actor Pradeep Ranganathan, who delivered back-to-back blockbusters with Comali, starring Jayam Ravi, and Love Today, starring himself in the lead, is one of the most viable commercial stars in Tamil cinema right now. The news of him joining hands with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan hit all the right notes, considering how both of them are known for their quirky ideas and the way they make romantic films for today’s audience.
On the occasion of Pradeep’s birthday, the makers of his upcoming project revealed the title of the film as Love Insurance Kompany. It is to be noted that the project was initially titled Love Insurance Corporation (LIC), but it ran into troubled waters when the Life Insurance Corporation reportedly sent a notice to the makers for using the same initials. Nevertheless, Vignesh Shivan has given the film a catchier acronym, LIK, that is set to rhyme with LIKE.
From the first look of the film, it can be understood that Love Insurance Kompany too marries the concepts of romance and technology, which was something Pradeep used to great success in his acting debut, Love Today. With Vignesh Shivan seemingly weaving a tale that brings Pradeep back to his comfort zone, the expectations from the film have increased.
Love Insurance Kompany also stars Krithi Shetty, SJ Suryah, Yogi Babu, and Gouri Kishan. Backed by Nayanthara and Seven Screen Studios, Love Insurance Kompany will have music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan.
Apart from Love Insurance Kompany, Pradeep Ranganathan is also working on Dragon, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, and backed by AGS Entertainment.
