Director Sundar C is busy promoting his upcoming film Aranmanai 4, which is releasing on May 3. In a recent interview with Cinema Vikatan, the director spoke at length about his personal life, his blockbusters, and about Aranmanai 4. In one of the segments, Sundar C was asked about an old photo of him with his wife Khushbu holding their newborn daughter Avanthika. Sundar C claimed that it was an emotional moment and shared the struggles that the couple faced.
Looking at the photo Sundar C said, “It is an emotional moment. It was taken right after the delivery. She (Khushbu) just became conscious. I haven’t told anybody, but I am sharing this now. You can see in her eyes that she is emotional because, before marriage, Khushbu was unwell for a while. A doctor had told her that she couldn’t bear a child. She cried and asked me to marry someone else. But I knew I was going to marry her and I was prepared that there would be no child in my life. But God had a different idea. Now, we have not just one but two angels.”
When asked how Khushbu was willing to share just an emotional photo with the public, Sundar C said, “For her, everything is media. She will tell everything to people and has always been like that. I am a private person, she is hyperactive, my polar opposite. I gave up after a point. Now, my whole life is like an open book.”
Sundar C and Khusbhu started dating during the shooting of their film Murai Maaman (1995). “We were dating for five years. We fought and broke up many times. There will be news on papers claiming that we have broken up. Then the same day we will go out for a party. It happens with all relationships. We finally decided that we both are for each other and decided to get married in 2000.”
Khushbu started her political career with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. She later joined the Congress party. Now, the actress is part of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She was last seen in the Telugu movie Ramabanam.
