Sivakarthikeyan is ‘extremely delighted’ to team up with AR Murugadoss for SK23

AR Murugadoss is celebrating his 49th birthday, and Sivakarthikeyan has confirmed that he is teaming with the director for SK23.

For a long time, it was said that AR Murugadoss and Sivakarthikeyan are coming together for a film. Siva on Monday confirmed that he and Murugadoss are teaming up for a movie, which is tentatively titled SK23. The filmmaker turned 49 on Monday, and as a treat to his fans, Sivakarthikeyan broke the news on Twitter.

He wrote, “Sir I’m extremely delighted to join you for my 23rd film and I’m double delighted after listening to your narration. This film is going to be very special for me in all aspects and I can’t wait to start.”

AR Murugadoss has been on a hiatus for the past three years. He last directed Rajinikanth in Darbar and the film did not perform as per expectations at the box office. He later produced Raangi and August 16 1947. However, it is said that the director has been putting in a lot of effort and research for his upcoming film, which will also be a commercial venture.

SK 23 will be produced by Sri Lakshmi Movies, the banner which is releasing Kangana Ranaut’s Chandramukhi 2 in Telugu.

On the other hand, Sivakarthikeyan has Aylaan and SK21 in the pipeline. The former is a sci-fi film with music by AR Rahman and the latter is a commercial entertainer, produced by Kamal Haasan.
