Superstar Rajinikanth, at 72, is one of the busiest actors in the industry currently. After Annaatthe (2021), he took a brief break from work only to return with the industry hit, Jailer. Ever since his return, the actor has been in work mode. Two months after the film’s release, he started the shoot of his upcoming film, tentatively called Thalaivar 170. The project is happening at a brisk pace as he recently wrapped up a schedule in Kerala. The superstar has now reached the Southern district of Tirunelveli, where he will be shooting a short schedule.
Pictures and videos of the actor from Tirunelveli are going viral on social media. In one of the clips, Rajinikanth’s car stops for the fans and the actor is seen shaking hands with his fans who are elated to see him.
Sharing the clip a fan wrote in Tamil, “Amidst actors, who don’t respect their fans after acting in just four films, he (Rajinikanth) stops the car seeing his fans, shakes hands and inquires about their well-being. What more does a fan want than this? This is why you are still a superstar even after 45 years!”

Thalaivar 170, produced by Lyca Productions, has a huge star cast featuring Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati in lead roles. Anirudh Ravichander, who delivered a hit album for Rajinikanth’s Jailer, is teaming up with his uncle once again for the film. Manju Warrier, Dushara, and Ritika Singh are other actors part of the film.
However, Rajini will be seen on the big screen even before Thalaivar 170’s release. He is part of his daughter Aishwarya’s Lal Salaam, which is expected to be released in January.
