National Award-winning actor Vikram has faced significant delays in the release of his highly anticipated films. One of the most notable among them is Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram, which continues to struggle with release issues. So, it is fair to assume that Vikram fans were in for a shock when SU Arun Kumar’s Veera Dheera Sooran, which was supposed to be released on March 27, failed to hit the screens on the scheduled time of 9 am. The delay continued with the noon shows also getting cancelled. But the delay wasn’t as bad as Dhruva Natchathiram, and the makers of Veera Dheera Sooran has finally cleared all decks, and the evening shows will start as planned.
The issues started with Mumbai-based production company B4U, which held the rights to sell Veera Dheera Sooran’s OTT rights before its release, filing a case against HR Pictures in the Delhi HC for announcing the release of the film before finalizing the OTT deal. The Delhi HC ordered an interim stay of the film’s release until 10:30 am IST, and ordered the producers to deposit Rs 7 crore and submit the required documents within 48 hours. In fact, the court also ordered the release to be pushed by four weeks. But with a lot riding on the release, it was expected that the stakeholders of the film would arrive at an amicable solution soon.
In fact, noted distributor Tirupur Subramaniam shared, in a statement, that the legal issues would be resolved soon, and the shows would start in the evening. And now, the makers have assured that the shows will resume in the evening. A post by HR Pictures read, “Theatrical Screening begin worldwide! Witness our Chiyaan Vikram as Kaali. Get ready for an action-packed ride, Don’t miss out on this epic adventure! An SU Arun Kumar Picture. A GV Prakash musical.”
Veera Dheera Sooran, directed by Arun Kumar, stars SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles. With music by GV Prakash Kumar, the film is backed by Riya Shibu under the HR Pictures banner.
