Actors Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Chandramukhi 2 which was supposed to hit theatres on September 19, has now been shifted to September 28. Chandramukhi 2 is the sequel to the Tamil horror-comedy film Chandramukhi.
Lyca Productions took to social media and announced that the film is being posptponed due to technical delays. They wrote, “Chandramukhi-2 release date has been pushed to September 28 due to technical delays. Vettaiyan & Chandramukhi will be back fiercer than ever. See you at the theatres with an extra special treat.”
In an interview with The Hindu, Kangana Ranaut had opened up about Chandramukhi 2. The actor said, “I am the original Chandramukhi. It’s an origin story which delves into who she is, and why she turned into a ghost. I’ve not been a commericial heroine and I usually stuck to art films or women-centric films on our fights and struggles. But there comes a point in time where you want to try something new, and it’s wonderful to do a film with song and dance sequences. The film’s climax is something you should look forward to.”
Chandramukhi 2 will release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
Apart from Chandramukhi 2, Kangana Ranaut will play an Indian Air Force pilot in the movie Tejas. Kangana will also be seen in the film Emergency, where she portrays former prime minister Indira Gandhi. This film is her first solo directorial and also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Vishak Nair, and Shreyas Talpade in pivotal roles.
