Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to return to the big screen after a gap of two years with Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer. For Jailer, the expectations are sky high as it features many stars of other film industries like Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff and Shivarajkumar.
The showcase video of Jailer released on Wednesday introduced Rajinikanth’s character ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian, a simple, soft spoken guy who has another personality that is hidden from the people around him. Tiger, with a smile on his face, slashes the bad guys with his sword, and looks downright scary when its time for justice to be served.

Rajinikanth’s ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian wears simple shirts and trousers throughout the film, giving the look of a simple, harmless man but once he gets into his uniform of a police officer, the violent side of him gives sleepless nights t0 his enemies.
At the audio launch of Jailer, Rajinikanth was very confident about the movie, and he backed director Nelson, who received backlash for his last film Beast. The Vijay-starrer didn’t perform as expected leading to speculations that Nelson will be removed from Jailer. However, Rajini said Beast was a commercial success and it didn’t lead to a loss for producers.
It is said that Jailer is a story of a father trying to save his son and grandson from formidable villains. He goes on to seek help from his old friends thereby setting up a force to take down the bad guys.
Also starring Tamannaah Bhatia, Sunil, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, and Mirnaa Menon, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, who composed songs for Rajinikanth’s Petta. The film will be released on August 10.
