Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth, the newest power couple in town, have already won many hearts with their effortless chemistry and candid interactions. Their genuine affection for each other, paired with their playful banter during joint interviews, has only deepened people’s admiration for the two, making them one of the most beloved couples in the south.

Their adorable and child-like bond was evident during a recent interview as well, where Siddharth’s certain remarks evoked a surprised and loud gasp from Aditi, who felt he was sharing what seemed like ultra-intellectual jargon about his acting style. “My aspiration as an actor is to not be noticed in the frame and melt into the furniture,” he shared during a chat with The Hollywood Reporter India, emphasising that his goal was to remain unnoticed in scenes. However, his response made Aditi gasp loudly and look around in confusion.

Siddharth explained, “For me, the writer creates the furniture, the director executes it and the actor just goes and becomes a part of it. If the writer and the director want the actor to get applause, be called beautiful or any other adjectives, they all will have to work together correctly and only then the actor will achieve that. That’s how I approach my craft.”

He went a step further, reiterating his disinterest in receiving applause when appearing on screen. “Don’t clap when you see me on screen; it doesn’t make sense,” he said, causing Aditi Rao Hydari to roll her eyes and joke, “I am dead!” He added, “I want you to clap only if the writer and director want you to clap,” emphasising how such reactions should come naturally from the audience, if and only if the moment demands it and an actor’s mere appearance or presence should not be the reason for applause. Once he explained that, Aditi nodded in agreement.

“For 20 years, I was told I was too attractive for certain roles,” he stated. When the interviewer pointed out that Aditi had faced similar comments, Siddharth added, “So, I ran away from it and she accepted it and became the most beautiful woman in the world,” which left Aditi blushing.

Reflecting on his acting style, Aditi Rao Hydari — who worked with Siddharth in the Telugu romantic action drama Maha Samudram (2021) — said, “He’s very present and works like a team; so for him, it’s about the film. He said ‘furniture’, but I don’t think that’s what it is. For him, it’s the scene, the entirety, emotion and what the director wants to bring out; it’s not that the actor should stand out. He’s a very giving actor. It’s really wonderful that somebody can put themselves and their ego aside and completely give into that.”
