AR Rahman and Mani Ratnam compose Ponniyin Selvan 2 background score in London. See pics

AR Rahman took to Twitter to share a picture with Mani Ratnam from London as the duo set out to compose the background score for the film.

Aga Naga, the much-awaited song from Ponniyin Selvan 2, is out. Fans were treated to a glimpse of the melody in the first part when Vandhiyathevan (Karthi) first met Kundhavai (Trisha) on the royal boat before he was sent on a mission to bring Ponniyin Selvan from Lanka. Fans have been asking to release the number ever since the first part was released and finally, the makers have budged to the demand. As the song is raking in millions of views on YouTube, AR Rahman and Mani Ratnam have already moved on to composing the background score for the film in London.

AR Rahman took to social media to share a picture with Mani Ratnam from London, and wrote, “PS2 at London.” The score is being composed in the historic Abbey Road Studio, where many iconic bands like The Beatles have composed music. The studio has been in existence since the 1920s.


Meanwhile, the official handle of Madras Talkies, one of the production houses of Ponniyin Selvan films, also shared a picture of the two from inside the studio, and wrote, “While we enjoy #AgaNaga #RuaaRuaa #Aaganandhe #Akamalar #Kirunage, Director #ManiRatnam and @arrahman are busy creating magic for the BGM of #PS2!

Ponniyin Selvan 2 is the final part of the two-part film, which is based on the five-part novel series of Kalki Krishnamoorthy of the same name. The sequel, starring Trisha, Karthi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, and Jayam Ravi, will be released in theatres on April 28. The first part of the film earned close to Rs 500 crores at the box office.
