Lyca Productions recently dropped three stunt videos of Ajith Kumar from his upcoming film, Vidaamuyarchi. The clips covered the stunt from different angles, which involved Ajith driving a Hummer car through a desert road with co-star Aarav tied to the passenger seat. Ajith swerved the car, which eventually toppled and the crew members can be seen rushing to the spot. Both the actors were unhurt.
The video went viral on social media. While many fans admired Ajith for his courage, some expressed their shock and claimed Ajith shouldn’t risk his life in such a manner. Others said it was unnecessary promotion and that the whole thing looked staged. Many also probed whether the accident was part of the stunt or it was an unexpected outcome.
A recent statement from Ajith’s publicist Suresh Chandra has put an end to all such doubts and speculations. Speaking to a Tamil magazine, Suresh said, “When Ajith Sir was speeding, the car skid and toppled. The whole unit was shocked and ran towards the spot. Since it was a Hummer, he didn’t have any major injury and escaped unhurt.”
Revealing the reason behind sharing the video now, he said, “A lot of such risks have been taken for the film. When you hear people spreading rumours that the film has been dropped, it affects all the crew members who have worked in it. So, to encourage them and lift their spirits, we have released the video now.”
Since Vidaamuyarchi has been on the floor for months now, there have been many speculations about the status of the movie, but the video has come as a relief to Ajith’s fans, who are awaiting the release of the film.
Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, Vidaamuyarchi has Trisha, Regina Cassandra, and Aarav in important roles. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the film, which is expected to be released this year.
