Every few days, actors and real-life couple Jyotika and Suriya provide just enough content to be filed under ‘#CoupleGoals’. In fact, in recent times, there have been many instances where both of them have stood by each other during trying times, and proving that, come what may, they would have each other’s backs. Ahead of the release of Suriya’s film Retro and the shooting of Jyotika’s upcoming project, the couple went on a spiritual trip in Maharashtra.

Sharing images of their trip to the Shakti peethas of Kolhapur Mahalakshmi and Kamakhya, Jyotika wrote, “Blessed to have visited the sacred Shakti peethas of Kolhapur Mahalakshmi and Kamakhya during the auspicious new year! Starting my next film… I thank you for your love and blessings always.” In the post, we can see the temples being featured prominently with the two actors doing certain rituals and taking a selfie after visiting the shrines.

While there were a lot of heartfelt wishes for both the actors, there were also negative comments directed at Jyotika. A few years back, at an event, her words about channeling funds to better healthcare options of the State instead of using it for maintenance of temples didn’t go down well with sections of the audience. And recently, actor Simran’s comments at an event about the cynicism of a co-star was said to be an attack on Jyotika, and people started taking sides.

On the acting front, Jyotika, who was last seen in the Netflix series Dabba Cartel, is said to be part of Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming courtroom drama, which will be helmed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and also star Sonakshi Sinha. On the other hand, Suriya is gearing up for the release of Karthik Subbaraj’s Retro on May 1.
