Film-maker Ramesh Sippy who has given us the iconic Sholay and hits like Andaaz, Seeta Aur Geeta and Sagar will be directing a light-hearted romantic comedy with quirky twists titled, Shimla Mirchi. Sippy who last helmed Zamana Deewana with Shah Rukh Khan, has signed Hema Malini for his next. He will be teaming up with her after 39 years. The actress will play mother to Rakul Preet Singh, who was a part of Divya Kumar Khosla’s Yaariyan. Rajkummar Rao will play the male lead in the film that goes on the floors in August. Interestingly, Rao opted out of Rajkumar Gupta’s adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s Revolution 2020 for Sippy’s Shimla Mirchi.
