Telecast of the address of the Prime Minister to the children on Teacher’s Day in schools of the state on Friday is neither mandatory nor compulsory, Assam government said on Thursday.

The directive has been issued to all deputy commissioners, inspectors of school and district elementary education officers of the state.

The directive was issued by the Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department (SCD) as, a government release said in Guwahati.
