Popular Tamil comedian Vivek’s 13-year-old son has died following brain fever, family sources said.
Prasanna Kumar was admitted to a city hospital for brain fever where he had been undergoing treatment for the last 40 days, sources close to the family said.
He died yesterday morning, they added.
Chief Minister Jayalalithaa expressed grief over the death.

In a condolence message to Vivek, Jayalalithaa said that she was grieved to know about his son’s death.
“While this is an irreparable loss, I pray Lord Almighty to give you the strength to overcome this grief…,” she said.
DMK President M Karunanidhi also condoled the death of Vivek’s son and expressed his sympathies with the family members.
