The highly anticipated sequel to the 2005 Marathi blockbuster Navra Maza Navsacha, directed by actor-filmmaker Sachin Pilgaonkar, has finally hit theaters, generating immense excitement among audiences. The original film, released nearly two decades ago, became a cult classic and remains one of the most beloved Marathi comedies of all time. The film was especially loved for its witty dialogue, hilarious plot twists, and scenic Konkan trip, which the characters of the film take to visit the Ganpatipule Temple in Ratnagiri. However, this time, the ST bus ride is replaced by a train journey.

Navra Maza Navsacha 2 starts right where the first installment concluded, giving the audience a taste of nostalgia. The new film features Sachin Pilgaonkar, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Ashok Saraf reprising their roles, along with Hemal Ingle and Swapnil Joshi, ensuring a perfect blend of old and new talent.

Released on September 20, coinciding with National Cinema Day, Navra Maza Navsacha 2 benefited from the special offer allowing viewers to watch any movie for just Rs 99. According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 2 crore on its opening day.

The film witnessed 80-90% houseful shows across theaters in Maharashtra, with audiences flocking to experience the sequel. Navra Maza Navsacha 2 saw an overall occupancy of 68.66% with most people catching the night show. In Mumbai, where there were 459 shows, the occupancy observed was 71.25%. In Pune, the occupancy was 70% with 271 shows.

Navra Maza Navsacha 2 has made a strong impact at the box office, captivating both long-time fans and new audiences with its impressive opening figures. The film has surpassed the opening numbers of Baipan Bhaari Deva (Rs 1.25 crore), the second-highest-grossing Marathi film after National Award-winning film Sairat, setting a new benchmark for Marathi cinema. The film’s successful run is likely to continue through the weekend and into the coming week.
