Music maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan conducted a press conference recently to announce that going forward, he will be managed by his wife, Nida Rahat and other family members. He has parted ways with his previous management team, which was led by music and concert producer, Salman Ahmed. The singer shared the update on social media and also requested his clients to not make any payments to his previous management.

At the press conference, a video of which Khan shared on social media, he is heard saying, “RFAK (his music company in Pakistan) is merging with NRK, whose president is my wife and her brother Mohd Baqa Niazi, who is in New Jersey. My brothers Ashar Anwar, Maroof Ali Khan, and Raja Umair Hussain are working with me locally in Pakistan. We have parted ways with our previous management in a peaceful and lovely way.”

However, during the press conference, the music maestro also alerted his clients to not make any payments to his previous management. He said, “I will request our clients to not make any payments to our previous management. I would like them to make payments only if they have my signature on the receiving. Earlier, I didn’t pay attention to these things and a lot of clients, who were associated with me because of their love for me, have been trapped because of these payments. Such episodes should not be repeated and this is one of the main reasons that I have conducted this press conference.”

Salman Ahmed had been managing Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for the past 12 years. When the Pakistani publications contacted Ahmed regarding the allegations made by the singer, he claimed them to be false. He said he has paperwork for all the transactions and is ready to produce it in front of Pakistan’s Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Ahmed was quoted as saying by The Nation, “Only 5 days before the press conference, the maestro had asked me to meet him and finalise his UK tour and other dates which he had committed with me.” He continued to claim that in the past decade, he was the one who took the bullet for Khan if need be.

“In 12 years I did over $22 million worth of international business with him and local business of over $12 billion. Beyond this, I was part of his personal matters and I managed Rahat’s three marriages and children from all three to his business affairs. I was a shield to take the first bullet if need be. Khan Sahib has forgotten everything, my devotion and work speak for itself. I am disappointed in the baseless allegations. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sold my sincerity too damn cheap. It is show time now. The world will see the reality,” Ahmed concluded.
