BTS’s official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV, recently released the twelfth episode of SUGA’s popular chat show Suchwita. In the pre-recorded episode, SUGA welcomed Jin as a guest, and to the surprise of fans, J-Hope also made an unexpected appearance. During the episode, SUGA recalled the emotional speech they gave at the MAMA 2018 awards. It was during this speech that the group revealed their struggles and admitted that they had considered disbanding in 2018.

When SUGA asked Jin about the speech, he said, “Because that was when we were promoting Fake Love and every month we only had a day and a half (off). I got really mad over that half. For about three months, we only had a day off each month. The agency said we had to work like that in order to make it. We knew that it wasn’t entirely wrong.”

The singer continued, “We worked so hard. But mentally and physically it was too hard on us. And we wanted to just let it all go. We were like, ‘I can’t do this anymore. Let’s stop here.’ That’s how we felt.”  Jin also confessed and said ‘singing while dancing is so hard’ and added that when he first debuted, he hated singing live.

Jin and SUGA also recalled how in 2018, when BTS’s office was in Nonhyeon-dong, the members went to a bar and drank together. Jin added, “So I just wanted to be honest about how we had felt. But when our fans heard that, I’m sure it could have sounded negative because it is not an easy thing to talk about. But it was in the past already. It was something that happened a year ago. It was true that we had thought about it and everything turned out okay in the end.”
