BTS’ V aka Kim Taehyung recently appeared on the television show You Quiz on the Block. Apart from his musical journey, V opened up about his beloved grandmother on the show. Hosted by Yoo Jae-suk and Jo Se-ho, the episode was released yesterday.
During the conversation, they talked about V’s family, especially his father, who has always been there for him. V expressed his thankfulness for his father’s constant support and love. As a way to show his appreciation, V mentioned that he had bought a car for his father. V said, “I try to remind myself, ‘I must always be a good son,’ but my father also shows me, ‘I must be a good father.’ “That’s it.”
Talking about his grandmother, the singer said, “I was raised by my grandmother, so I hope my grandmother will see me performing in the midst of countless ARMYs and how much I’ve grown. I wanted to show her ‘I have become/grown up this big’ but it was not to be. I am keeping memories of my grandma in a pretty place, a pretty place within my heart.”
V shared that when he visits his grandmother’s grave, he pays his respects by talking to her. “Now my album is coming out. I will try my best for it to reach (high enough) where you are at so you could listen,” he said.
The singer talked about a moment in his life when he felt numb while performing on stage or receiving awards. Regardless of the awards’ significance, he couldn’t find the happiness and motivation he once had. He realised this was a big problem and decided to try something new.
